Smoky Mountain Palace in Pigeon Forge Opens New Production

The Smoky Mountain Palace Theater celebrated a new beginning Thursday night with the premiere of a show that combines exhibitions of Shaolin Kung Fu with elements of Broadway shows. "Hui Guang" takes its title from the main character, an orphaned child who grows up in a Shaolin temple and learns the ways of the monks and their signature martial arts style. New Shows at Smoky Mountain Palace in Pigeon Forge

After the abrupt departure of its last two shows, officials with the Smoky Mountain Palace Theater and its Legends of China and Shaolin Kung Fu productions have what they hope will be permanent shows to replace them. Officials with Nonstop Creativity Entertainment Co., which produces the new shows, are completing an agreement to purchase the Pigeon Forge theater.
